Image Manipulation

Movie Poster Image

Firsty I moved my image into a layer sized width-350 height-500 because it was previously to large.

I then edited the London Underground logo that I created for the movie poster and trailer. Firstly I used the magic eraser to erase out the background of the logo.

After moving the logo onto the layer of the character image, I used the transformation controls tool to turn the logo to this angle.

Finally I lowered the opacity of the logo to 44% to fade it. This meant you could see both the logo and the image. This is the final edited image.

Movie Magazine Front Cover Image

In the first stage of editing, I used the Lasso Tool to cut out the section of the image that I will use as the main focus, in this case being the three main characters of the film.

I then used the Photoshop gaussian blur tool to blur out the background of the photo around the main image of the three characters to create a priority effect on them.

Finally, I used the eraser tool on the immediate background outline of the image that was left from the cut out. Because this was a new layer on the top of the background, by erasing it I did not erase any of the background. This is the final edited image.

  1. Nice talk through on how you have used some of the technology to further the meaning you seek to create through your product.
