The masthead of the magazine is the biggest and brightest piece of text across the whole cover. Its blue colouring makes it stand out from the white background and attracts the attention of the audience. By having the large fonted masthead, the creators attract the audience to the signature logo of the magazine and show how important the text is. The issue number and date of release of the magazine are also around the masthead as they are both useful pieces of information that readers can spot easily.
The headline of the front cover is relating to the main feature of the magazine and gives and insight into what is involved in the story. By including the name of the movie that is involved, the creators persuade the audience to buy the product if they are interested in the movie and the big and bold text makes the headline the first thing seen by readers. The white colouring of the headline will also catch the attention of the audience because it stands out fom the darker part of the image. Accompanying the headline is a strapline like rhetorical question. The rhetorical question gets the audience involved with the story and will entice them to found out what the feature is explaining about the film.
The hooks that are around the page will also draw the attention of the audience. The creators give an insight into the other features inside the magazine too persuade the audience to buy the product and read on about these stories. The terms used like movie names and actors/actresses names will also draw the attention of the audience because the creators expect a knowledge of the subject from readers and if they are interested on that specifically they are likely to buy the magazine. As well as their names, the use of images of the actors and actresses will also entice the audience. Movie stars are both famous and extremely popular, so if a reader is interested in them they are likely to want to find out about them. The use of shots relating to the movie will also draw the attention of the readers because they can notice the suit and action of the subject without even reading any text.
As is a common conventions, the magazine layout has the most important features biggest and the most central so they are the first thing that readers see and the less important pieces of text and images towards the top because they are less important. The size of the magazine is a regular A4 size.
Although not all of the text is in capitals, the font is fairly large and bold so it can still be seen and read easily from a distance. The font size also changes with the importance of the text.
Even though not all them are bright, the colours across the cover are made easy to see because they contrast their background thus making it easy to read.
